If you serve customers in a specific area, local SEO is no longer optional. These 7 steps give you a realistic shot at Google’s first page.

1. Google Business Profile

It’s free, and it’s the most important step. Fill in every field: category, description, photos, opening hours, phone. Add a set of photos of your premises and your team, too.

2. Local citations

List your business in Slovenian directories such as bizi.si, slo-info, najdi.si and panoge.si, with exactly the same details everywhere (NAP: name, address, phone).

3. Content for “near me” searches

Create pages or blog posts that name specific places, such as “paving stones Ljubljana” or “hairdresser Bežigrad” (a Ljubljana district), worked naturally into the text.

4. Reviews

Every 4★+ review counts. Ask customers directly. The easiest way is a text message once the job is done.

5. Schema.org markup

Add LocalBusiness JSON-LD to every page. It helps Google understand more quickly what you sell and where.

6. Speed

A mobile PageSpeed score above 85 is no longer optional, especially for local searches, where 70% of queries come from mobile devices.

Sponsor local clubs and events, or get featured in local newspapers. One local link is worth more than 10 generic ones.
